2012 W.I.L.D. Legacy Finalists Announced

The Gannon University Small Business Development Center Announces the 3 Finalists for the 2012 W.I.L.D. Legacy Award

During a 2012 W.I.L.D. Planning & Networking event at the Safari Grill on Thursday, March 15, 2012, Melanie Hatch, Ph.D. – Gannon University, Dean of the College of Engineering and Business, announced the 3 finalists for the 2012 W.I.L.D. Legacy Award. The public was asked to submit nominations for the 2012 W.I.L.D. Legacy Award. Several nominations were submitted and reviewed by an independent panel of community judges from Gannon University’s Leadership Erie program. Employees of Gannon University, the Gannon University Small Business Development Center and members of the W.I.L.D. Steering Committee are excluded from judging these nominations.

The three finalists are:
Crystal Arlington – CEO of Affiliated Grounds Maintenance Group
Gail Cook – President and CEO of the Erie General Electric Federal Credit Union
JoAnn DeSantis-Barnes – HR Director of Scott Enterprises

nced professional woman leader who mentors other women, supports her community and excels in her career. Each is a trail blazer who has not followed but has carved her own path to success and has supported other women along the way. She has demonstrated high standards in all that she does and serves as an example to others professionally and personally. The winner of the 2012 W.I.L.D. Legacy Award will be announced during the 5th Annual Woman In Leadership Development (W.I.L.D.) Conference on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center.

The Gannon University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is the host of the 5th Annual Women In Leadership Development (W.I.L.D.) Conference. The W.I.L.D. is a national conference expected to draw over 750 women from Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Indiana, New Jersey, Delaware and West Virginia to Erie, PA on Friday, May 11, 2012 for a day of professional develop and networking.

Tickets for the 2012 W.I.L.D. Conference are $150.00 until April 15, 2012, $200.00 beginning April 16, 2012. All things wild including conference information, ticket registration and online payment are available at wild.sbdcgannon.org. Attendees, sponsors and exhibitors are encouraged to register before April 15, 2012.
Our 2012 W.I.L.D. Leadership Speaker is Grace Killelea, Senior Vice President of Talent for Comcast Cable. Our 2012 W.I.L.D. Entrepreneurship Speaker is Peggy Klaus, President of Klaus & Associates. Both W.I.L.D. Speakers are inspirational, motivational and dynamic. Denise Christianson, President of Advanced Placement Services, Inc. is the 2012 W.I.L.D. Chairwoman. The 2012 W.I.L.D. Philanthropy is the Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania. For the first time, a silent auction will be held for most of the grand prizes with all proceeds benefiting the Girl Scouts.

The W.I.L.D., founded in 2008 by the Gannon University SBDC, is a celebration that recognizes; supports and promotes women in business through women helping women.
